Robinson Leads Idaho Past Colorado, 4-2, in First of Pair

BOISE, Idaho – The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Colorado Eagles, 4-2, in the first of back-to-back meetings between the teams this week. Idaho’s Josh Robinson stopped 39 shots — including all 17 he faced in the third period — in the win, which moved him into a second place tie with 22 on the season, most among rookies.

Eagles Dominate Komets, 6-1, to Take Series

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles defeated the Fort Wayne Komets, 6-1, to take the week’s three-game set, two games to one. Colorado held the Komets to just 14 shots in the contest, setting a new season low for shots allowed, while they scored their six goals on 30 shots.

Eagles Sweep Set in Bakersfield With Shootout Win

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – The Colorado Eagles earned a weekend sweep in Bakersfield with a 3-2 shootout win against the Condors. For the second night in a row, Colorado held a 2-1 lead late in the third period, but Bakersfield was able to score with an extra attacker in the final minute to force overtime, temporarily delaying the Eagles’ win.

Yellow Horn’s Two Goals Help Reign Take Over League’s Top Spot

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Ontario Reign took over the top spot in the ECHL with a 5-3 win over the Colorado Eagles, winning both games in the weekend set at the Budweiser Events Center. Colton Yellow Horn, the league’s top point producer and goal scorer, had a pair of goals to pace the visitors in their win.

Eagles Double-Up Wranglers, 4-2, Prior to All-Star Week

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – The Colorado Eagles defeated the Las Vegas Wranglers, 4-2, in their last game before the 2013 ECHL All-Star Week, presented by CCM. Colorado will return home to the Budweiser Events Center where they’ll take on the ECHL All-Stars Tuesday night in a Skills Competition, presented by CCM & OtterBox, one night before the squads face-off again in the All-Star Game, presented by University of Colorado Health.

Pacific-Leading Reign Edge Eagles, 3-2

ONTARIO, Calif. – The Ontario Reign edged the Colorado Eagles, 3-2, in a game that saw all but one goal scored via the power play. Mario Lamoureux opened up and closed out the scoring for the Pacific Division leaders, and Colton Yellow Horn recorded a goal and an assist to take over the league lead with 50 points. Colorado will play in Las Vegas Saturday night before the league’s attention turns to Northern Colorado for the 2013 ECHL All-Star Week, presented by CCM, next week.

Eagles, Thunder Rivalry Grows in 6-2 Stockton Win

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Stockton Thunder defeated the Colorado Eagles, 6-2, in the fourth straight game between the teams, wrapping up the season series in a 3-3-0 tie. The teams combined for 83 penalty minutes in a game that featured plenty of feistiness, and even though the season just passed its halfway point, if the playoffs began today, the teams (separated by just six points in the standings) would square-off in the opening round for the second year in a row.

Eagles Win 9th Straight at Home With 4-1 Victory Over Thunder

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles earned their 9th straight win at the Budweiser Events Center with a 4-1 victory over the Stockton Thunder in the third of four straight meetings between the teams; they’ll face-off again Saturday night. Colorado’s league-leading power play provided a pair of goals to aid Adam Brown’s 22-save performance.

Balanced Attack, Forney’s Hat Trick Lead Eagles Past Thunder, 8-3

LOVELAND, Colo. – The Colorado Eagles extended their winning streak at the Budweiser Events Center to eight games with an 8-3 win over the Stockton Thunder in the second of four straight games between the Western Conference rivals. Colorado got goals from six different scorers, led by Michael Forney’s hat trick, as he busted out of a scoring slump in a big way.

Eagles Can’t Catch Up to Thunder in First of Four Meetings

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Stockton Thunder defeated the Colorado Eagles, 5-3, in the first of four meetings between the Western Conference rivals. Colorado found themselves playing catch-up all game long as the Thunder would strike early in each of the three periods. Despite the Eagles tying the game prior to each intermission, a pair of shorthanded tallies by Stockton in the third period — the latter with Colorado’s net vacated for an extra attacker — were the difference in the game.

Sides’ First Career Hat Trick Not Enough to Keep Eagles Perfect Against Bulls

DALY CITY, Calif. – The San Francisco Bulls defeated the Colorado Eagles, 4-3, behind a strong third period. The win was their first all season when trailing after two periods and their first in six meetings with the Eagles. Three unanswered goals in a span of three and a half minutes ruined a strong night from Joey Sides, who provided all of Colorado’s offense by tallying the first hat trick of his career.
